Joephet R. Alcantara is a partner of the Firm and is involved in both the Firm’s transactional and civil litigation teams.  Before joining the Firm, Mr. Alcantara was a junior partner at Mair, Mair, Spade & Thompson, L.L.C., a staff attorney for a legal services organization, and a law clerk for the Supreme Court of Guam.

Mr. Alcantara’s practice includes corporate commercial work, administrative law, and civil litigation.  His experience includes small business and non-profit counseling and representation, family immigration, regulatory compliance, insurance defense involving medical malpractice and auto liability claims, appellate work, labor and employment, business planning, corporate transactions, probate and wills.

Mr. Alcantara’s experience further includes having represented government agencies, such as the Guam Memorial Hospital Authority and the Guam International Airport Authority, with respect to human resources and risk management.  He also served as legal counsel for the former Guam Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse.  He currently serves as an Administrative Law Judge for the Public Utilities Commission and as a Hearing Officer for the Guam Department of Education. 

Mr. Alcantara is a board member and secretary for the Make-A-Wish Guam & CNMI Foundation.  Mr. Alcantara was born and raised in Guam.
